The Recipe Card: Our Gift of Thanks In 1995 we brainstormed a way to give our customers a holiday gift as an extension of ourselves and not something that might be perceived as an urging to shop. The result was a recipe card using one of Linda's recipes and a photo of that food by our friend, the wonderful photographer, Kim Kauffman. Linda enjoys feeding people and prepares food for our events. The first recipe card featured a cranberry dip that has become a tradition at our Christmas open houses and the recipe is always requested. That was an easy choice. Subsequent recipes sometimes prove more difficult to decide upon as our graphic designer, Ben Graham, prefers a dish with 3 ingredients and one sentence of instructions—the easier to lay out, my dear. These cards are a collaboration allowing us to share our love of food, love of art and the artful presentation of food, and food as a joyful expression of life. They are a thank you for and a celebration of the interconnectedness of our lives. (click on photo to download full recipe as a pdf) |
