Eileen Sutton hand-fabricates her sterling silver jewelry and inlays with epoxy resin, sometimes translucent, sometimes opaque and carved for textural interest in earrings, brooches, pendants. She is restrained in her use of color, using the metal (sterling silver, 14K gold, and bronze) as a color element and generally only one other color: black, red, green, yellow, turquoise. The emphasis is on geometric, architectural shapes, small internal elements, and the depth of the epoxy. Eileen is creating the icons of the present and future. |
